P&S/Faculty Search Committee Orientation

The EOD staff provides consultation services and resources to the hiring departments about how to conduct effective searches.  It is strongly recommended that before departments commence with initiating an active search that all search committee members/chairs/adminscomplete the online Icon course that provides a basic orientation regarding the UI search process, equal employment opportunity/affirmative action (EEO/AA) guidelines and best practices.   

Register through the Employee Self Service website:

Log in to Employee Self Service using your HawkID and password.

Select the Personal tab. In the second column, under Learning & Development, select My Training. Select Available Sessions & Series or Available Online ICON Courses.

Classes are listed in alphabetical order. Scroll down to:

New Online ICON Course

Search Committee Orientation (Course #WEOD01)

SEARCH COMMITTEE GUIDELINES (course #642) and select the session you'd like to attend.

Click the Enroll in this Session button.

You are now enrolled and can view the course in your Sessions Currently Enrolled In section. Courses are automatically confirmed at the time of enrollment, and an email confirmation is sent approximately six days prior to the session. Class lists are returned to Learning & Development, and the status of participants is updated from Enrolled to Completed, No Show, or Canceled. Once the status is updated, the class is then moved, if completed, to the Completed Sessions section of My Training.

You may also register by printing a copy of the printable registration form (pdf) and sending it via campus mail to UI Learning & Development, 121-51 USB.
