Biography

Haley, a native of Iowa City, earned both her bachelors of science in Psychology with an emphasis in Human Relations and her masters of Social Work from the University of Iowa. She is a licensed social worker and member of the National Association of Social Workers.

Haley got her start in TRIO programs by completing a yearlong practicum with the University of Iowa’s Upward Bound program while in graduate school. She then worked as an advisor for TRIO Student Support Services at Kirkwood Community College until she came back to the University of Iowa in 2015. She returned to the Center for Inclusive and Academic Excellence working for Upward Bound until she joined the TRIO Student Support Services program in 2018

She has also worked with local nonprofit agencies including the Domestic Violence Intervention Program, Neighborhood Centers of Johnson County, and served for two and a half years with AmeriCorps in the Iowa City/Cedar Rapids areas doing community corrections.

Haley is passionate about social justice issues, spending time with her family, cooking, gardening, traveling, and the Iowa Hawkeyes!
