Steve received his master's in Teaching and Learning from the University of Iowa. Before joining TRIO SSS, Steve taught art in the public education system at both the elementary and secondary levels. Steve worked previously in higher education as an Area Coordinator and Interim Director of Housing at Saint Joseph's College in Rensselear, Indiana. Steve is also involved on campus with the College of Education and teaches with the Art Education department. He is interested in research on learning and teaching through punk ethics and philosophy, the role of place in development of identity, and arts-based research. 

Steve enjoys reading, painting, board and video games, Hawkeye football, and spending time with his family.
