Above and Beyond Award

Each year, the University of Iowa Disability Planning & Action Committee (DPAC) recognizes an individual(s) for their innovative and distinctive efforts to enhance the opportunities of individuals with disabilities at the University of Iowa by presenting them with the “Above and Beyond” Award. DPAC is seeking nominations for this year's award which will be presented during the 2017 Annual Disability Celebration.

The nominee can be an individual or group currently employed by the University of Iowa, whose job function is not primarily related to working with individuals with disabilities, and who:

  • exemplifies commitment to the university disability community;
  • demonstrates exceptional initiative in support of persons with disabilities within the university; or
  • has gone above and beyond job responsibilities in providing service to persons with disabilities at the University of Iowa.

How to Apply

Nominations will be accepted via online nomination form.

Optional applicable supporting documents related to the nominee(s) can be emailed to disability@uiowa.edu. If submitting supporting documents, no more than two shall be submitted. Narrative submission shall be no more than 500 words in length.
