Automatic Extensions of HP Compliance Due Dates due to ongoing technical issues with the new Harassment Prevention online course (May 17, 2018)

The university continues to experience some technical difficulties with the new online harassment prevention courses. ITS and HCIS have made some changes which greatly improved the ability of UI employees to log into the module from the external vendor (EverFi). While many people are able to access the new courses and complete all the modules and the attestation successfully, there are still some employees reporting technical difficulties in having their EverFi module completions recorded properly within the university’s learning management system (ICON).

ITS and EOD are in continued dialogue with EverFi and other external vendors as they work to resolve the issues that we have been experiencing. EverFi has not yet provided us with an estimated date for resolution of these sporadic issues.

We are able to make manual corrections to the scores from the EverFi courses into ICON, when necessary, and are doing so on a regular basis now until the problem is fixed.

For this reason, and due to the departure of many of our 9/10 month faculty and teaching assistants, we have decided to grant another round of due date extensions to individuals with a due date on or before Sept. 29, 2018.

Automatic Extensions of Due Dates for Selected Employees:

If due on or before Sept. 29, 2018: Employees who had a due date on or before Sept. 29, 2018 for this compliance will receive an automatic extension of their due date until Sept. 30, 2018. These employees may attend an instructor-led program or complete the online course.

The university continues to offer instructor-led courses through UI Learning & Development and UI Health Care Human Resources. More information on the instructor-led courses is available from EOD’s website and from UI Health Care, Faculty & Staff New Hire Orientation’s website. I will inform the HR Community members once the technical issues with the online courses from EverFi have been resolved.

To see which of your employees have the due date of Sept. 30, 2018, you may run the following report in CQ after Wed., May 16, 2018:  Harassment Prevention Compliance individual deadlines within the Quarter. Be sure to change the end date to 09/30/2018.
