Powerlifting is a training style that is rapidly increasing in popularity among women. This style of training has been shown to build muscle, increase mobility, increase lean body mass, and improve the glutes. In this four-week session, female participants will follow a training program which includes a warm-up, form/technique, and cool down for the three basic power-lifts: squat, bench press, and deadlift. Each lift will be taught specifically from the unique perspective of the female anatomy. The goal is to improve confidence in the gym at the barbell racks. Accessory exercises and lift variations to improve range of motion and technique will also be included. The session instructor is a female personal trainer with more than 20 years of powerlifting experience.
