Thursday, April 5, 2018 - 9:30am to 11:30am
International Commons (Room 1117) University Capitol Centre
200 South Capitol Street
Iowa City, IA 52240

This session will introduce participants to the culture of Western and Northern African countries through a series of brief presentations. Participants will learn about the history, traditions, values, and norms of the countries presented in the session. Participants will hear about the day to day life of Western and Northern Africans and have the opportunity to ask questions of the presenters.

Participants may take courses individually, without working toward a certificate. Successful fulfillment of the Building Our Global Community certificate requires completion of one required core course and four elective courses. All courses taken for the program are free of charge to participants.

UI faculty and staff can sign up online through Employee Self-Service under the “Personal” tab in My Training; search for courses listed with BGC in the course title.

Individuals with disabilities are encouraged to attend all University of Iowa-sponsored events. If you are a person with a disability who requires a reasonable accommodation in order to participate in this program, please contact Brandon Paulson in advance at (319) 335-0335.
