Four Movements Toward Freedom: A Creative Showcase

Four Movements Toward Freedom: A Creative Showcase explores the role that art plays in social justice.

Carrying the audience through experiences connected to music, photography, theater, and spoken word, this program features University of Iowa faculty, staff, and students imaginatively performing their brand of liberty labor.  It challenges the notion that black activism must take one form.

By presenting a range of illuminating performances, this showcase suggests that just as Martin Luther King, Jr., could not deliver America in a single moment of eloquence, social progress today will entail an imaginative pursuit of revelation.
