Iowa LGBTQ Game Design Workshop
Over the course of an afternoon, participants will play LGBT videogames, talk about LGBT issues in the game industry, and make their own games. Students will receive instruction on game design basics, get help prototyping their game, and have opportunities to use game development software (including Twine, Stencyl, and Corona SDK). By the end of the afternoon, all participants will have a completed video game or be well on their way to finishing their first game. While these games will be basic, they will prepare participants to continue making games and to be a part of the queer games scene.
Individuals with disabilities are encouraged to attend all University of Iowa–sponsored events. If you are a person with a disability who requires a reasonable accommodation in order to participate in this program, please contact Jeremy Dietmeier in advance at firstname.lastname@example.org or 651-587-3734.
