Harassment Prevention & Response Course Enhancements, Oct. 2, 2018

In response to requests from the HR community and others, on Tue., Oct. 2, 2018, we made a change to the structure of the online Harassment Prevention & Response courses to improve the user experience. We redesigned the order of the modules within the online courses so that the Intersections module from EverFi, and its associated certificate of completion, come at the end of the course. The UI-specific module, called University Policies, will now be the first module following the introductory video by Pres. Harreld.

We believe this change should greatly reduce the number of calls and emails we all have been receiving for tech support. Employees who are midway through the course should not be negatively impacted by the design change.

As in the past, there are two online courses available, one for Academic/Administrative Officers (AAOs)/Supervisors and one for non-Academic/Administrative Officers (AAOs)/non-Supervisors. We estimate the courses require between 2 to 3 hours to complete, therefore, we recommend employees work on these course over multiple sessions.

HR representatives should continue to utilize the Harassment Prevention Reports in CQ for monitoring compliance with the mandated education. There are 2,318 people due to complete a HP course before 12/31/2018. Given the large number of people due this quarter, and the Thanksgiving holiday and winter break late in December, we recommend you send messages on a monthly basis to those with a due date this quarter.

Due Date                             Number of Employees (Campus-Wide)

                10/31/2018                                                         1,100

                11/30/2018                                                             306

                12/31/2018                                                             902

                Total                                                                      2,318
