Center for Diversity & Enrichment

The Center for Diversity and Enrichment provides precollege student development, assistance with facilitating the enrollment process, academic coaching, and programs and activities that support the ability of underserved students to thrive and succeed at the University of Iowa. Academic Coaches are available to support students throughout all aspects of their college experience. We want to make sure your transition to the university is a good one and that you are aware of the opportunities available on campus.

CDE’s goal is to provide an inclusive environment for students from diverse backgrounds, as well as individualized support, programming, and mentoring. We formally serve racial/ethnic minorities, first generation students, low income students, students with disabilities, and members of the LGBTQ+ community..

Programming is offered to enhance the cultural, social, and academic experiences of students. The programs have the goal of building community, celebrating cultures, and educating students on a variety of topics.

We invite you to explore our website and the websites of all the units in the Division of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion. We welcome suggestions for ways to enhance your experience at the University of Iowa; please contact us if we can be of assistance to you.
