Karla Madrigal is an Academic Coach with Campus Outreach Services at the Center for Inclusive Academic Excellence. She earned her Bachelors of Social Work degree from the University of Iowa in 2022, and is working towards her Masters of School Counseling degree at the University of Iowa. 

She is a first-generation student, and is passionate about utilizing her experiences in order to help students believe that they are capable of achieving their goals and aspirations. Karla was previously an Assistant Educational Support Services Specialist with TRIO Upward Bound and is grateful to continue her work within the CIAE. 

Karla is from West Liberty, Iowa. Growing up, her parents would drive her around the University of Iowa campus and say, “This is where you will be one day.”  She comes from a family of hard workers, and is determined to make them proud through all she does.
