Steph Yazell, M.Ed.
Steph earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Religious Studies with a minor in Psychology from the University of Iowa in 2012. She developed a passion for learning about religions and cultures. While at Iowa, she was a Resident Assistant for two and half years, which led to a passion for helping students. After this, Steph attended the University of West Georgia, receiving a Master of Education degree in Professional Counseling and College Student Affairs in 2016. She held positions in both Housing & Residence Life and the Counseling Center. Steph then joined Elmhurst College as a Residence Life Coordinator. She had the opportunity to serve as a Mentor for Steps to Success and co-teach a First-Year Seminar, which helped her discover a passion for coaching students in all areas of student life. She joined the TRIO SSS team in spring 2018 and enjoyed focusing on working with first-generation college students.
Steph enjoys movies, live music, hiking, kayaking, yoga, and spending time with her dog outside of the office.
