Latinx Youth Summit

Youth Summit dance

The Latinx Youth Summit is part of the 19th Annual “Strengthening and Valuing Latino/a Communities in Iowa” conference to be held in Iowa City, Iowa. The youth summit attracts 200 high school students from around the state. The Iowa Latinx Conference is coordinated by the Center for Diversity and Enrichment and the University of Iowa School of Social Work.

Workshop Proposals

Important Information About Workshop Proposals

AUDIENCE:  Conference participants include 9th -12th grade high school youth, educational advisors, community members, and community organizations. The conference is a multiracial/multinational event; participants speak multiple languages and interpretation can be provided for conference events in both English and Spanish if requested. 

LENGTH OF PRESENTATIONS: Please note that the Youth Leadership Summit workshops are 45-50 minutes in length.

STIPENDS:  All conference presenters receive complimentary registration to the conference, which includes conference meals and activities.  As a general rule, the Iowa Latinx Conference does not provide payment to presenters.

SUBMISSION INFORMATION:  Proposals for conference workshops are due by Thursday, August 31, 2017.  Proposals will be reviewed and you will be notified by Friday, September 15, 2017 of its acceptance.
