Black History Month
Black History Month honors the fight for equality for African Americans in the United States. The month of February was chosen because of both Fredrick Douglass' and Abraham Lincoln's birthday.
It is important to remember both trials and triumphs in the African American community. Additionally, the fight is not over; there are still many steps to take until all can be considered equal.
National TRIO Day
