The Office of Access and Support (OAS) provides one-on-one academic support and facilitates services geared toward supporting:

  • Students with disabilities
  • Students with marginalized racial/ethnic identities
  • First-generation college students
  • Low-income students
  • LGBTQ+ students

In academic support, students will meet one-on-one with a university staff member to gain holistic support throughout their undergraduate experience. In these meetings, staff will focus on the following areas:

  • Academic support
  • Financial literacy
  • Career development
  • Health and well-being
  • Sense of belonging
  • Learning at Iowa framework

Interested in meeting with an Academic Specialist? You can schedule an appointment through MyUI. To make an appointment, please log onto MyUI (myui.uiowa.edu) and select “Advising Appointment” then "OAS”. Make sure to select your assigned Academic Coach. If you do not know who your assigned Academic Specialist is, please email daod-oas@uiowa.edu to find out. If you do not have an assigned Academic Specialist, please make an appointment with any of our available specialist.
