The Office of Access and Support celebrates students graduating from each year. This is our time to say CONGRATULATIONS on your accomplishments. As guests, we want to express our appreciation for your role in their lives. We're a community, and no one can navigate this world alone. Thank you!

The 35th annual Center for Inclusive Academic Excellence End of the Year Celebration will be a special afternoon of entertainment and celebration in late Spring of 2025. This will be an in-person event hosted, traditionally hosted in the IMU International Ballroom. Join us dressed in whatever makes you feel your best

2024 Event Program

The Distinguished Educator Award

The student-nominated Distinguished Educator Award recognizes a faculty or staff member who has exemplified excellence in cultural diversity over the past year. This award is named in honor of Dr. Nancy “Rusty” Barceló, former Assistant Provost and Director of Opportunity at Iowa. Her commitment, dedication, and desire to assist and promote diversity throughout the University of Iowa were the foundation for creating such an award.

If you are graduating this year, you or your student organization are invited to nominate a UI faculty or staff member dedicated to promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion on campus.

The Student Leadership Award

The Student Leadership award recognizes individuals who have made meaningful contributions to the University of Iowa or surrounding communities through their vision and action; their sense of responsibility, devotion, and diligence; and through their inspiration, good judgment, and will. Students receive a certificate designating them as Student Leadership Award recipients.

The Deans Achievement Award

The Dean's Achievement Award is an opportunity for college leadership to recognize outstanding students for their achievements and service to their respective colleges. We invite the deans of each academic college, as well as their appointed representatives, to select a student of their choice for this prestigious award.

Nominate an undergraduate, graduate, or professional student in your college who has exemplified, promoted, or made significant contributions to diversity at the University of Iowa or surrounding communities through their vision and action. In addition, this student should demonstrate responsibility, inspiration diligence, good judgment, and will.
