Quarterly Harassment Prevention Education

Snapshot Date is Approaching- 3/31/2023

Thank you for assisting your faculty and staff who are due to complete their harassment prevention (HP) education course during this quarter. For the 3rd quarter of the fiscal year 2023, there are currently 577 employees remaining who are due to complete an approved HP course before the quarterly snapshot date of Mar. 31, 2023.

Please run the Compliance & Qualifications (CQ) report, Harassment Prevention Compliance Individual Deadlines within the Quarter, for your units and strongly encourage identified employees to complete one of the online courses ASAP.

Online course completions are uploaded automatically each night, typically after 10:00 PM, and are visible in CQ the following day.

Additional Reminders:

  1. Enrollment for the online courses is available from the Compliance & Qualifications website.

  1. Approved courses:

      Employees are now assigned to the harassment prevention course based upon whether they currently meet the definition of an Academic/Administrative Officer/Supervisor as defined in UI’s Policy on Sexual Harassment and Sexual Misconduct. If you or your employee believe they have been assigned to the wrong HP course, contact your human resources representative or OIE by email (oie-ui@uiowa.edu).

      NEW: Employees also have the option of self-enrolling in the higher level HP course for Academic/Administrative Officers (AAOs) / Supervisors if they know their status as an AAO or supervisor will be changing in the near future. The AAO/supervisory level HP course is recommended for those who will be leading study abroad trips in the near future, new administrative supervisors who will have employees assigned to them soon, or faculty and staff who will assume temporary/interim supervisory roles, (e.g., interim DEOs and interim nurse managers). See below for instructions:

Login to the CQ website . Click on My Training and then Enroll in Courses. In the search field, type “Harassment” and the online courses will pop up. Select to enroll in the Supervisory course (Course #WSHSPR). Click View Details to the right.

      Online Courses:

    1. Harassment Prevention and Response- for Non-Academic Administrative Officers / Non-Supervisors (WSHSTF)
    2. Harassment Prevention and Response- for Academic Administrative Officers / Supervisors (WSHSPV)

Instructor-led Course:

There are no instructor-led courses currently scheduled. Contact OIE-ui@uiowa.edu   if there is a need for an accommodation for an employee with a disability or an employee whose personal circumstances prevents them from utilizing the online courses.

  1. Launch the online course using one of the browsers listed above as you might check your personal email address or Google, and navigate to https://compliance.hr.uiowa.edu. Avoid using Citrix, Remote Desktop, VPN, etc.

HR unit representatives may verify whether an employee’s online course completion has been uploaded and refreshed in CQ by running one of the following reports:

    1. Harassment Prevention Compliance Due this Quarter (in CQ)
    2. Training Activity by Employee (In Self Service, HR Reports, Training Reports).

HP Extension Requests

Please have your senior HR representative, or associate dean for faculty, send any HP extension requests to OIE no later than Mon., Mar. 27, 2023. HP extension requests may be considered for employees on an extended leave (e.g., extended military, FMLA, or unpaid leave).
