Summer 2020 Social Justice Reading Group

Friday, July 17th, is a meeting for the Summer Social Justice reading group! This is a come as you can event, so you needn’t have been to the other ones this summer in order to attend!

Please come having read the following from Audre Lorde’s book, Sister Outsider: Essays and Speeches, which is available free through UI Libraries:

  • Friday, July 17th, 1pm-2pm (pgs 53-109)
    • “Uses of the Erotic: The Erotic as Power” (53-59)
    • “Sexism: An American Disease in Black Face” (60-65)
    • “An Open Letter to Mary Daly” (66-71)
    • “Man Child: A Black Lesbian Feminist’s Response” (72-80)
    • “An Interview: Audre Lorde and Adrienne Rich” (81-109)
