Interested in getting stronger? Powerlifting is for you! In this 4 week session, participants will learn proper warm-up, form/technique, and cool down for the three basic power lifts: squat, bench press, and deadlift. Accessory exercises and lift variations to improve range of motion and technique will also be covered. Participants will learn how to “spot” other lifters correctly for safety. In the last week, participants will have the opportunity to test their one-repetition max and perform calculations to help them implement the movements into their own exercise routines. This class provides a solid foundation for the “Intro to Olympic Weightlifting” session the following weeks.
