Good afternoon Hawkeyes,

I want to drop a quick note of CONGRATULATIONS to Dean Harriet Nembhard, and the entire College of Engineering. The American Society of Engineering Education (ASEE) has recognized their DEI efforts with the Bronze Level, which is the highest level ASEE currently has for this honor!

ASEE Bronze Level

ASEE created this program "to publicly recognize those engineering and engineering technology colleges that make significant, measurable progress in increasing the diversity, inclusion, and degree attainment outcomes of their programs."

It is especially gratifying to see Iowa Engineering's DEI efforts noted by an esteemed national organization. I understand the application was rigorous and competitive, and I appreciate Dean Nembhard and the College of Engineering DEI Council, faculty, and staff who helped with the application.

The College may now proudly display the ASEE Diversity Recognition Program badge. Additional information about the program is on the ASEE Diversity Recognition Program website

This is one example of the excellent DEI work happening across our university to build a more inclusive, welcoming, and respectful campus.

Congratulations, Dean Nembhard and the faculty and staff of the College of Engineering!
